soul mate
He said I was his soul mate.
He was mine.
He had the uncanny ability to see and understand me beneath the different facades. He told me things about myself that I thought no one would ever notice or know. He understood me more than anyone had.
Sometimes he'll pop into my thoughts and I'll message him. He's amazed how I always seem to contact him just after he loses his phone together with all the numbers.
At some point, he asked if I was interested in him. I was shocked. I laughed it off and said no. He said if I was, we could always talk things through. I insisted I wasn't even though my heart wasn't sure.
Maybe he just lost his phone (again) because he's in my thoughts today.

It is possible to have more than one 'soul mate' because we're each so multi-faceted.
Then we just make a decision to commit to one as a life partner, and the rest as blessings of good friends.

hhmmmm...many friends we all have. but we all make a decision at some point in time.
wonder away at the "what ifs". we all need some imagination and excitement in our lives. heavy is the step IF we do try to realize "what ifs".
i'm not too sure if i have soul mates. i know i have friends who understand me in different ways. girls and boys alike. but that's because we've been through trips/events all these years.there's bound to be some understanding there.
but let's just say, i don't think my man is my soul mate. in fact, i know for sure he is not.

sometimes soul mates are instantaneous finds. sometimes soul mates are formed over a long period of time. sometimes we don't need soul mates, just good friends.
maybe it's just not too good to always think of "what if".
